Generally speaking the further a vessel is from Nigerian waters the lower the risk of a serious piracy event. As a result visiting Nigeria's neighboring countries comes with a risk both in transit to the port and whilst they are at anchor waiting for a berth.
MAST is able to provide services, via local subcontractors, to ships whilst in the anchorage but is unable offer patrol boats for longer range escorts.
MAST can provide a local military armed team to embark in the anchorage areas of ports in the above countries. These armed teams can be supplemented by an unarmed MAST Security Representative to act as a liaison officer/safety supervisor between the security team and the crew. The presence of the MAST representative also means the ship is fully covered under MAST's insurance.
