Al-Shabaab claims it has captured town near Kenyan border after brutal siege

The Kenyan government has vehemently denied claims that militant group al-Shabaab, have captured the border town of El Wak. Al-Shabaab in a statement on Sunday, December 11, claimed they killed three government soldiers, after battling KDF and Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers.
The town of El Wak is located in Somalia’s Gedo region and borders Kenyan town also called El Wak in Mandera County.
