Armed police flown on to Plymouth ferry

Agreement still to be reached on embarking armed guards in UK waters.

Brittany Ferries has confirmed that armed ‘sea marshals’ were flown on to a crossing from Plymouth last night.
The Herald revealed earlier this month how security on board was being stepped up in the wake of a series of attacks on “soft” civilian targets in France, Germany and Belgium. Brittany Ferries then confirmed armed sea marshals would being to patrol cross-Channel passenger ferries operating from Plymouth.
