MANILA: President Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte again threatened to impose martial law in troubled Mindanao to stop terror groups particularly the Al Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf extremists from further sowing death and violence.
“I am putting you on notice that I will not hesitate to use extraordinary powers of the presidency,” Duterte warned in his speech during the 35th anniversary celebration of the PDP-Laban political party where he was the winning standard bearer in the May 2016 presidential election.
