MANILA: Heavily-armed men believed to be members of the Al Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf terror group abducted the skipper of a fishing boat and his three crewmen off Sulu in restive Mindanao, the military reported on Wednesday.
Major Filemon Tan, the spokesman of the military’s Western Mindanao Command, said armed men aboard a pump boat stopped the FB Ramona 2 while fishing on the Celebes Sea off Sulu and abducted the boat captain, identified as Noel Besconde, and his three crewmen at dawn on Tuesday.
