Navy claims to be suppressing piracy, maritime crime.

The Nigerian Navy has said that a dedicated anti-piracy approach adopted by the force has drastically reduced activities of pirates and other illegalities on the Nigerian water ways adding that similar gains had been made in the protection of onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities in the region.
The Chief of Training and Operation of the force, Rear Admiral Adeyinka Osinowo, stated this on Saturday in Abuja while addressing journalist shortly after Naval quarterly route march for personnel.
