Italy has offered to supply drones and radar to Libya as part of a deal to curb the flow of migrants into Europe.
In return the UN-backed Libyan government committed itself to turning back tens of thousands of migrants arriving on its southern border from across Africa. Marco Minniti, the Italian interior minister, visited Tripoli yesterday to discuss the deal.
