The past week has seen multiple people kidnapped from waterways in Nigeria. Reports say most of these hostages have been returned safely.

Elsewhere, Kenya has been removed from the High Risk Area (HRA) and is no longer on the piracy red list, the @International Maritime Organization has announced.

In Southeast Asia, the US and Thailand conducted joint naval training, as part of an exercise to demonstrate their partnership and commitment to maritime security.
