In the Gulf of Guinea, here have been four reported incidents for the period observed. NIMASA has recorded 27 incidents of piracy in Q3 2021, and the government is being asked to look into how the Deep Blue project was funded.

In the Indian Ocean Region, the US Navy has rescued several suspected narcotics smugglers from a boat which they allegedly set a fire on, to destroy their illegal cargo. The IRGC has staged several drills and EU NAVFOR has signed MoUs with several states to improve intelligence sharing in the region.

In Europe, there has been another increase in people crossing the English Channel in small boats. In the Mediterranean, large numbers have again been crossing from Libya, who report finding 160 bodies in the water this week.
